In 2019, Geertje was tasked by her teachers to brainstorm an innovative concept for a jewellery piece. It was during this project that she began experimenting with machinery originally intended for crafting interior furniture or high-tech components. Both the machinery itself and the waste generated by this industry served as sources of inspiration for her. After numerous experiments, the STARR earring was brought to life – a unique design comprising two pieces that seamlessly merge into one. With the creation of the STARR earring came the inception of the Tweek-Eek jewellery brand. Today, the STARR earring remains one of the most popular pieces in the collection, designed by twin sisters Roos and Geertje.
